Five Legged Stool
Following negative reception of the Four Legged Stool (1961), Halprin later revised the piece into what later became the Five Legged Stool (1962). Both pieces were designed as a sensory expereince without deliberate meaning or continuity, the purpose of the content was to be whatever the audience saw. It premiered on April 29, 1962 and was choregraphed and performed by Anna Halprin and the Dancer's Workshop Company featuring John Graham, Daria Halprin, Rana Halprin, A.A. Leath and Lynne Palmer.
